Life changing

"I have purchased water for many years. But that never helped to lessen my acid reflux. So I went through 5 or 6 prescription changes but they just never worked well. Having acid reflux every single day is a terrible condition to have. So one day I came across an article about the water we use and drink. I had no idea that water could cause so much trouble. So I decided to make two changes. 1. I changed to a clean coffee (Fabula). And 2. i purchased my RO countertop System. Between these two changes, I'm off acid reflux medication, and no more heartburn all day. Not to mention my coffee tastes incredible. This countertop model has a very short turn around to getting the next full up ready for drinking. It's conveniently sitting on my counter ready for use. It also has hot water available if I need it. No more schlepping around store bought water."

"I think the system is good, has to be refilled a lot which kind of makes it a pain to refill. Piece of mind that you’re getting clean water but ambient not cold, the hot water is great for tea. I would recommend but it would be better to get a whole house filter installed."

A real legitimate review

"Overall just set up countertop reverse osmosis system and it seems to be working well. The amount of waste water is a bit ridiculous and would be better if it was just a separate tank. The directions do not tell you to leave the small area empty after you fill it after you flush the system. The reason I am saying this is because it is impossible to just pour out the waste water and not pour out whatever water is left in the regular side. overall though it filters water and from a visible and taste standpoint it is working. This is a real review and not some scripted advertisement like I read earlier."

DIY method

"I live in BC. Our water quality is already good. From the tap, TDS was 27 but with this unit, the TDS was 0. I love the taste of the water; however, I didn't realize how much waste water this unit generates. As mentioned by another reviewer, it can be cumbersome to lug the water tank to the sink to dispose of the waste water but I developed a system where I wouldn't need to lift the water tank, and utilize the waste water for other purposes. I bought a 1/2" ID hose and a rechargeable water dispenser (the kind you can attach to one of those heavy water jugs). With a twist tie, I attached one end of the hose to a chopstick to keep it straight and put it in the waste water tank. I put a binder clip on the top of the tank to prop up the lid a little to allow the hose to go in. The other end of the hose I attached the dispenser. Whenever I see the wastewater tank fill up, I use the dispenser to pump the water to my sink and use the dispenser to pump water to wash my dishes. You can use it to fill a small bucket for household cleanup. One important note is if using the rechargeable dispenser, when you turn it off, water will continue to flow from the dispenser unless you put an air bubble in the hose - this is easily done by lifting the end of the hose from the waste water tank. To fill up the raw water tank, I use a plastic container to transfer the tap water in. This method solves 2 things: (1) you don't need to continuously lift the water tank to put tap water in; (2) you can easily utilize the wastewater by pumping it to the sink area with a rechargeable dispenser. Keep a small quantity of dirty dishes on the side throughout the day so you have something to use the wastewater for."

It's good if you can't get an under counter system

"I absolutely needed this filter. It's been missing in my life, was drinking years of Brita water living in LA, and I feel so much better drinking safe clean water. It made LA water great to drink, which is a miracle. Apartment living doesn't allow you to install under the counter ROs, and this was a perfect compromise. If you do have the option to install under the counter, I would pick that option in my own opinion. Pro Tip: Some of the reviews mention you need to refill it often. You can fill both sides of the tank with tap water, letting you make less refill trips. It will just push the tap water out of one "dirty" into the "clean side" and slowly replace it with the "brine." Super pro tip... if you are concerned about waste water, use it around the house for plant water. For two people, we probably refill it every other day, which isn't bad! The biggest plus is the hot water. I threw away my old kettle, and can enjoy a hot cup of tea whenever! All together wonderful device, if I had to pick a complaint it would be the biggest a 32 oz water bottles don't fit, so you have to do it at an angle (or remove the water tray). Second the child lock is annoying, I wish you could disable it. They also released a re-mineral version after I bought mine, I wish there was a conversion kit as the machines look identical. Last, it does take some patience if you fill over a liter of water, it will take possibly 2 minutes for it to make more water. All very minor annoyances for the benefits it gives."

First Impression 5 Stage Counter Top RO

"Was looking for something portable and I won’t have to mess around under the sink. This model is Easy to install. Easy to run. Seems decent built. Heavy with water inside. Water tastes good. With raw water TDS of 230-250 to 5-7 after filtered. Takes up a bit of space, especially vertical clearance because you have to lift water tank out and put it back in. Water tank needs to be empty of waste water and refill raw water very frequent. Every few cups and waste water tank probably full and needs emptying. Which means taking the water tank out and dump all the waste water and refill raw water in. I can see this will become tedious pretty quickly. So i drilled a small hole into the side of the waste water tank and connected a drain tube out into the sink. This way, i wont have to keep pulling out the whole water tank and dump out waste water and refill. Now i could just lift the top tank cover and pour in new raw water, which is so much less work and makes life easier."
